Chugger Boat

I tried to post a pic of my homemade pontoon boat to no avail. The plans from Mr. Michalak are detailed plans with detailed drawings/blueprints that came in a timely manner. Just haven't studied them or even looked them over thoroughly. I will this weekend, and muster up the courage to get going on the build. I have built houses, but none of them had to float, and not take on water. I live on Lake Mexia, and it is a pretty predictable lake as far as temperament, and I don't plan on pulling a skier, or going fast at all. I have a 3.5 hp outboard that is still in the box so speed is not my goal. I, and my wife love to fish, and this boat will be primarily for that, or to sit in the middle of the lake anchored down to have a nice candle lite dinner. Kind of a bucket list thing. Same thing as far as the chugger would be intended for.

 

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess my hesitation is due to the fact that this is all different, and I want the project to be a success.

 

I am sadden to hear Steve passed away. I wondered why he quit emailing me. I had no idea of him having heath problems. It must have been sudden.

I can't believe someone dug up my old Chugger post from GStwins. My design, if you want to call it that, is based on a slab sided barge I saw plans for. I just gave it some Chugger inspired touches.

 

Nothing against michilak but i like tbe chugger n hope you build it. It looks about as simple as you can get.

 

Unfortunately, I won't get to build due to continuing health setbacks. I may one day buy a smaller boat to do my dream cruise around The Great Loop.
