I'm impressed by how much of the impact of the picture is contributed by the footsteps. Without them it would be kind of ordinary looking. They also scale the size of the ship pretty well.

The Eastland Disaster Killed More Passengers Than the Titanic and the Lusitania. Why Has It Been Forgotten? | History | Smithsonian https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/eastland-disaster-killed-more-passengers-titanic-and-lusitania-why-has-it-been-forgotten-180953146/

In the comments of this article people are arguing about the authors "manipulation" of the numbers (crew are not counted) and that there were worse loss of life sinkings. This is surprising...

    Hank,
    Instructions unclear, please advise.

Best call the soil engineers, I'll think . . .

Soil engineers: Charles Van Alstine, Doug Kuhl, a now unknown staff member I'll think, and Tom Wallace.

P.S. - It doesn't look like a nice sit though, on top of that very narrow front bumper, hence the weight supported by both hands, so it looks like clearly staged for the picture . .
