Hull insulation materials?

    I spent a lot of my youth in the tropics. Decks do get hot and make boats uncomfortable, particularly those designed for colder climates. An economic way of insulating is to glue aluminum foil to the underside of the deck and then install styrofoam. You can then finish it with thin plywood or other paneling.
