Lightwave 38 Keel design

    was watching this launch video of a Lightwave 38 and was struck by the height and thinness of the keel. See vid at 0:33 mark. This design would seem to be problematic for beaching due to high point loads. Most keels are LAR and are like a box. This is more like a fin. Any comment?

    This boat spends much of its life on the beach. Never a problem. Not a LW38 but the keel is a similar design on the LW45. P8010190.JPG

    you are spoiled. :D
    Not all beaches are so perfect.
    I assume that the keels are solid glass or is it glass over ply?
