problem at maxsurf structure in adding plates on the shell

    iam design model on maxsurf modeler vi21 ,with bow thruster tunnel .and when open the model on maxsurf structure ,there is problem in adding plates ,there is an error in calculating shell expansion of the shell
    i attached full detailed images for the problem.

    can you help me in discovering the reason for the problem and helping in fix it

    I would simplify the model to the fullest. For example, it would make an independent surface (or several) to define the bow bulb. It is possible that the plate you want to develop you have to split it into several smaller parts. Try also to develop that plate without the holes of the bow trusters.

    i make model from one surface and the bow hole from another surface ,if i want to add plate for each without error what i should do

    when i remove bow tunnels .it do well without errors,what should i do to over come this problem

    The model that you have made has a lot of merit and, sure, it has cost you a great effort but I believe, sincerely, that it is too complicated and that it does not reproduce the surface of the hull with the due accuracy. To make a real development of the hull plates would not work. You need, in my opinion, use more surfaces, both for the bulb and for the bow area, the bulwark on the forecastle deck, etc. Do not be afraid to use many surfaces. This will allow you to better adjust the surfaces to the hull and, in addition, you will get plates easier to develop.
    The area of the bow thrusters tunnels, define them by means of at least three surfaces. Something similar to that of the figure, although it is easier to obtain good results with "1", if possible, than with "2", since the green surface is totally undevelopable.

    Usually, if thruster pipe has not very big diameter, shipyard whant to bend rectangle plates in this area and just mark cutouts for thrusters.

    I mean some shipyards prefer to bend rectangle shell plates and cut the thruster cutout afterwards. Like it shown on this picture.

    Yes, now I see what you meant. Of course, we must find solutions that simplify the development of the plates. In general, using several surfaces, instead of trying to use a single surface, makes things much easier. On many occasions it is necessary to "damage" a little the hydrodynamics to make "the thing" constructible.

    Use just one surface is a bad practice fo me. It is even more complicated and unreasonable. Agree with you.
