I think Jim A is referring to RX just to be clear here.

But thanks for the link Jim C.

I am not doing infusion as my vac panels are coming up 33-38% resin to total and I have all the stuff for wetlayup. Infusion is still interesting though.

My bubbles were introduced during the panel flipping and only leave under max pressure which per my gauge is about 29.8".

Kind regards to all of you who helped me figure out my troubles.

Hey thank you for these tutorials. Just curious as to how basalt and carbon fiber would be handled differently in a vacuum infusion. My problem is I'm not seeing alot of information on using basalt. Is it not a good product? I've read it's strengths over fiberglass and to me it's far superior. Do you prefer one composite material over others?

I have to disqualify. Perhaps someone else can comment. I suggest you start a new thread titled basalt. I have zero experience or knowledge.

Fall guy I completely understand. If you aren't familiar with it, I would highly recommend that you look into it. It's about the same price or less than fiberglass mat and from what I've heard it is the same or close to the strength as carbon fiber. The Tesla sports car has alot of basalt Matt in it. Have a blessed Thanksgiving sir.

Jim, where are you buying your basalt in smaller quantities and who is the manufacturer?

I want to revisit this thread with a rather simple question.

What happens in wet bagging when you allow bridging on the perimeter of a panel? I still have bubbles on the table side from time to time and the microvoids Andrew mentioned from running the pressure up.

I don't believe we ever got the edge work done quite riggt as early on we were just trying to close the 133 square foot bag and not necessarily closing it well.

The other possibility is using peelply on the bottom of the panel might be acting as a flow inhibitor and holding any bubbles caused by xcess resin.

    Thanks again.
