No keel only foils.. this is gonna be interesting

 

Looks like a lot of boat ahead of the lifting foils.A good composite engineer is going to be essential for these things and the systems for moving the foils will be powered by?I think I would rather be a spectator than a test pilot at this stage.

 

Like a huge Defline 19 with lifting foils.

 

at 45sec, "windward foil provides righting moment" just how does it do this, by its weight? it is not touching the water! poppycock

 

Prestart match racing will be an incredibly dangerous game with those "tentacles" coming out of the boats sideways.

It will make the jousting carried out by the knights in centuries gone by look like a walk in the park.

 

Yes - by its weight. Two tons is a lot of ballast hiking out over the side.

 

I admire the twin canting keel/foil concept. Granted it's going to be tricky rounding the cans with those foils hanging out so wide, but there is a clear speed benefit provided the wind speed is right and the boats are well balanced.

I'll be grabbing the popcorn during sea trials!
