Thanks for being so persistent Mr. E . . :)

It made me call the lasses Mom about what happened, and she did recall she had missed a gutted Cod from her kitchen on Jan. 29 - 2016, and later that day she saw it flying on YouTube, but since she found it back in her fridge when wanted to prepare supper, she didn't think about it anymore. So she prepared the meal and eat it with her yokefellow, the kids didn't show up though, as they were busy with something.

This made me check the vid nano sec by nano sec, and then I saw it was indeed a gutted flying Cod there, of which the belly opened up when it hit the lasses face...

So since I wanted to know how they did it I called my friend from the early 70's there for the location, and zoomed in and did some measurements...

Left (for the video viewer) of Aimee there's about 6 m (20') room to the sea wall, so enough for the thrower to stand out of sight of the cam, but must say, a hell of a throw, and a hell of a tough gal doing her thing while knowing that an about 2 kg high speed flying Cod is going to hit her in the face when the next wave breaks over the seawall . .

This all to entertain us, and to earn an income . . .

You wouldn't want people throwing fish at your head daily, for sure.

You get my vote as the forum No1 fact checker!

    Agreed, I'm wrong, it's a fake

Years ago I had a surreal experience in Barry Island. I started a course in mechanical engineering at Cardiff university (I didn't finish) but the university had made an almighty cock-up with the accommodation bookings which resulted in them renting all the empty cabins in the Barry Butlins camp to house the first year intake while they sorted out the problem. The cabins were decrepit clapboard boxes with peeling paint and a musty smell; it was a comical anti climax to that supposed big step in life... At that time there was a large area of railway sidings adjacent to the camp which had many abandoned rusting steam locomotives. The Story of Barry scrapyard http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/barry1.htm
I haven't been back for a long time, judging from the video it has been smartened up a lot.

It's not me but a friend of mine, I was at the yard ( I pay my bills on mostly fiberglass boats ) and my friend was replacing the stem on a Alaska class limit seiner ( big boat in a 56 foot stall ). That's a beautiful chunk of Purple Heart that he's carving on...

I've thought he might be working on a piece of Angelique, which can be reddish brown to yellowish brown, but I'll guess, indeed not as purple as shown there. And Purple Heart might be even better . .

Thought this deserved a wider audience. The heroic (and since June, largely single handed) restoration of Tally Ho (Albert Strange)
