What is your No1 choice for a manual toilet and why? Which is the worst head you have used?

Well you'd struggle to block it!
Seriously though; on boats I've been on some heads seem to work and work whereas others...
We were talking in the yard about what make of head to fit in the ILen which will probably be used for sail training and charter to cover her costs.

My personal best from experience would be a manual Jabsco but I'm wondering if there better choices out there. I like the ease of pumping, hygenic moulding that is easy to keep clean and if it blocks it is really simple to dismantle.

My personal worst would be one of these contraptions which has faults too numerous to list.

 

Those who try them say that "composting" toilets are hands-down better than traditional flush toilets. The brands I've heard mentioned most are natureshead.net, airheadtoilet.com, and c-head.com. C-Head's are the least expensive and smallest. There are other composting toilet manufacturers, and DIY component companies.

Thanks for the info, I admit I've never heard of a composting loo on a boat...on land, yes, I used one myself when I started up doing joinery in a shed with no plumbing. I follow up on the threads tomorrow.

Yes, there's a lot to be said for using other peoples boats
