When you zoom in enough on the also previously provided Paraquita Bay link, and you go around the whole island, then you'll see many company names related to the boating business and also marinas, especially in and around the coves and bays as can be expected.

When you click on such a company name then the contact details show up on the left side of the screen.

You could try to contact them all, and on all the other affected Caribbean islands as well, and then ask your questions there, since everything has to be worked out on a custom basis, and if they can't help you directly you can ask for the right contacts on the island.

When their phone and internet is working again then you could start this job from home, and continue it while island hopping to find your boat and a deal for it.

However by phone and email you will be often truncated at first contact because for these kind of matters it's an impersonal way of communication with a totally stranger.

As for the lists, just put in an search engine whatever you want to know...

british virgin islands marina - - - - british virgin islands yacht charter

For the other islands just change the island name, and for other matters just change the name of the matter . . . ;)

Onsite chatting tends to yield the best results, and being able to say yes at the right moment.

‘‘ The Official Hurricane Hole anchorage for Tortola. ’’

‘‘ Surrounded by mangroves, this protected anchorage is primarily used as a hurricane hole for hundreds of local and charter boats. ’’

But this time those bays and coves saw the eye . . . .

The British and U.S. Virgin Islands in natural-color before and after Hurricane Irma passed on September 6, 2017.

‘‘ Hurricane Irma churned across the Atlantic Ocean in September 2017, battering several Caribbean islands before moving on to the Florida Keys and the U.S. mainland. As the clouds cleared over places like the Virgin Islands, the destruction became obvious even from space.

These natural-color images, captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on the Landsat 8 satellite, show some of Irma’s effect on the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. The views were acquired on August 25 and September 10, 2017, before and after the storm passed. They are among the few relatively cloud-free satellite images of the area so far.

The most obvious change is the widespread browning of the landscape. There are a number of possible reasons for this. Lush green tropical vegetation can be ripped away by a storm’s strong winds, leaving the satellite with a view of more bare ground. Also, salt spray whipped up by the hurricane can coat and desiccate leaves while they are still on the trees.

Irma passed the northernmost Virgin Islands on the afternoon of September 6. At the time, Irma was a category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds of 185 miles (295 kilometers) per hour.

The sad news is there will be less that is salvageable after the next round with Maria. I think quite a few pieces will wind up barged out and discreetly added to build ocean reefs.

Maria is on a different track and will likely leave many of the now distressed boats where they are, relatively unmolested.
