Hi,experts! My task is to transform the smooth surface hull of a 32' gillnetter into the chine ones.In other words,to transform a lines/body plan.It is needed to simplify a bild of the boat later. Is there any program for that?

    Welcome to the forum.

Agreed, learning a good modeling package is more than necessary, so you'd be best advised to hire some one to make this conversion.

It has reason for me to learn these programs...I'm a naval architect student.I'm interested in that subject as well.A Gillnetter is my final qualification work.I'm interested in a small trawler design (up to 100ft long)

I suppose it depends on what outside assistance is specified as allowable in the task being set. If you can out-source it to someone else's program or skills, it is a strange kind of assignment. Is the smooth lines plan a given, as the starting point ?

Yes,the smooth lines plan is given.Another way for me is to determine streamlines flowing round the hull in a model basin and then according the results to alter the smooth lines plan manually...But I would like to try both options. To make sure of the accuracy of program's calculations if such exists.
