Does anyone knows the best and more practical method of NDT welds inspection on a 40' steel hull? 13/16" and 1/2" on the keel.

    More practical than what?

What type of welds/structure are you going to examine?

Wow. 13/16" on a 40 foot hull? For those of you metric, that is 21 mm. Is this a submarine?

Probably a typo. My guess is 3/16"

Maybe, but would be consistent with the 1/2" keel

On a heavy displacement boat, 1/2" on the keel shoe is not unreasonable, depending on the vessel, 1/4" inch for the keel sides is also very reasonable.

We'll have to wait for the OP to clarify.

That makes more sense for a boat. You wouldn't be the first in this forum with a submarine though.
