Nautical science in usa?

    Guys i planned to continue my master degree in nautical science to study in usa..Is there any institution there providing best education for maritime studies???:eek:

    There is no degree called Nautical Science in the USA. You could study related things like Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is another discipline may designer choose.

    I'm not sure about the States but in Canada we have Nautical Science programs in universities. They must use a different name for these programs in the States. While they do learn some aspects of naval architecture, such as ship stability, it is not naval architecture. They are seafarer programs. Whereas Marine Engineering produces marine engineers Nautical science produces deck officers. They learn navigation and seamanship and things like that.

    The University of New Orleans has a Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering program. A very good one at that :)
