VolvoPenta MB10 timing mark

    The manual says the timing mark is on the oil pump/filter base. There seem to be two marks. Anyone has a clear photo or diagram?

    Maybe this is the manual you already have:

    Bottom page 17 says: - (is PDF page 10, right bottom corner)

    ‘‘ On the oil pump housing there is a notch and on the flywheel timing marks, see Fig. 17 ’’

    Page 18 (is PDF page 11, left side) has a vague picture.

    Zoom in on the PDF handbook picture reveals the timing marks as a notch below the oil filter, and as 0° - 5° - 10° - 15° - 20° timing notches on the flywheel.

    But I can imagine many of these oldies have these marks covered with several layers of paint...

    Thanks a lot. The engine I am trying to time, has layers of paint and dirt. Also, it had a ridge (probably a casting mark) to the right of that v-groove.
