Round bilge Wood plan

ISO 12215-5 does not say anywhere that it only applies to pleasure boats. It is applicable to small boats, monocoque, between 2.5 and 24 m in length, with speed less than 50 knots. (See attached picture).
The ISO standard is a much more current standard than the books used in the second half of the last century. These books covered a gap existing at that time and were invaluable in their time. But the science does not stop to advance and leaves obsolete to everything that is not renewed.
I sincerely believe that the best thing you can do is to apply ISO 12215. It is not a simple standard to apply but it is more comfortable than that of any other Classification Society.

 

Thank you TANSL. I think like you, the best way is to apply the 12215-5 scantling procedures. Do you have any suggest where I can find books or documents whith detailed rappresentation of wood boat structure (apart google pages you already indicated)?
Anyway the books gonzo indicated to me is however interesting for a first approach to the matter.

 

I must say that my comments on the old books refer only to the formulas they present for the scanting of the structure. They are great books, recognized worldwide, but in some of their chapters have been overtaken by the new calculation tools.
The books attached are very, very, interesting. In them, there is also an abundant bibliography on wood and on wood construction.
