I have a 1984 cat. The head intake seacock froze last summer. I don't know if it has ever been serviced. It's now soaking in PB Blaster.
My question is reguarding the through hull fitting.
It has a VERRY slight bit of corossion on it. Probably as old as the boat.
    The throug hull seems sound.
My question is should I leave it alone or clean it off back to a bright finish ??
If I clean it to a bright finish should I leave it natural or coat it with lacquer ??

    Thanks Cat Nap

This shouldn't be something to contemplate, honestly. Replace the 1/3rd of a century old through hull.
