The same principles should apply, but the Aero drag of ships is far less than it is for trucks I would imagine. Trucks average 70mph, ships are doing 20kn.

 

Wouldn't that result in creating additional sideways lift force? Just like a more foil like shape in cross wind would.

Color me skeptical. I do hope that such a thing might work. I have long believed the shapes of trailers and tractors will need some revisions to make this obey the laws of physics. I will be pleased to discover myself wrong.

Gonzo, don't get lost we still need you. What is wind. A movement from most of the time moisture air from a High pressure area to a low area. By having ionisation, whereby the air at a spike or metal part, get at a couple of hundreds of thousands of Volt either negative or positive charged, the wind will either attract or reject from this point. That is what I think they are doing. The question is, maybe they are using AC and not DC . Bert
