Hi all, just before we start a new proa build, we feel we must do justice...
Pacific Proa Crystal Clear, is amazing and I love her, she has a soul and tons of potential.
here is what she's all about.
as soon as possible I will get to work on her minor problems...
    so happy I built her.
    enjoy.

    Impressive but complicated.

I would be more likely to try a single outrigger, which has a definite bow and stern.

Keeping the rig modest is a good idea. Keeping its CA low is good too, even at the expense of performance.

Over all, I think this boat is quite ingenious.

Tacking outrigger canoes have their fare share of problems... their amas need to be bigger and akas stronger, for sailing in "Atlantic" mode (ama to leeward).

I did complicate things in my search for simplicity... I'm working on that at the moment. Anyway I do think That a Shunting Pacific Proa WITH a lee pod/safety ama could be the easiest and cheapest way to build a fast and seaworthy boat, time will tell, like everything else, it's a learning process..............

Thanks for liking her! we love her.
    all d best.
