    Hello good fellas,
Just sharing my first attempt with speed boat. Took me 25 days to complete. Feed backs are welcome. Just to let you know this is my first boat building and trial and went to Bay of Bengal, part of indian ocean for sea trial with 7 people on board, and 25 horse power enduro Yamaha engine.

The dimension in the pic is slightly wrong

    Height : 3 ft
    width: 4 ft
    Length: 13 ft
Dead load: Unspecified didnt had the instrument
Live load: 400 kg in sea trial
    speed : 21 nautical mile

Seven people on board that boat sounds dangerous to me, even on smooth water. Were life jackets aboard ?

Looks like it is exhibiting all the bad performance characteristics of a 45 degree sloping stern chamfer and square bluff forequarters.

Wouldn't want to do any decent speed in rough conditions

    Hi,
Yes we had life jackets on board, while on sea trial, we loaded with 7 people to push limit of its live load. The boat is built for four passengers. Only problem we faced about is 20 km of low tide water level drop downs to four to five feet. So it was very tough navigate through deep water.

That boat is too small to be venturing out in anything other than relatively good conditions, be conservative with it.

Thank you all for your valuable comments and feedback. In my previous post many of you seen how ******** bangladeshi fishermen are as well as sailor, but one thing for sure they dont care life and death, so accident happens. We pushed this boat to the limit because we have orders of making fiberglass fishing boat, and we know, when hand it over to them, they do not give a **** about equipments. There target is to catch many fish as you can come back to shore, but the bay of Bengal day by day is getting shallow. During our sea trial, between two island our speed boat got stuck. moonlight night, we saw vast ocean dried up, only mud. so many parameters we have to test. below is map where the fishing boat will operate and how many areas are shallow water. Another photo I have attached the current condition of coastal fishing boat, and our proposed fishing. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated. Fiberglass boat are in great demand in coastal areas in Bangladesh.

AusMarine (formerly: Professional Fisherman) Magazine (Oz & NZ) had an article about the above proposed boat in their June 2016 issue on page 22 JPG 1076 x 1633 pix

This 62' (19 m) aluminium single keel monohull is a Rock Lobster Vessel which was built by Fine Entry Marine to a new design of Global Marine Designs for all weather fishing in the Southern Rock Lobster Zone of Western Australia.

When GMD gets an order for a kit Nº MK 15071 then they'll ship the pre cut aluminium kit in a flat pack from FEM to the builder, or if commissioned the vessel will be built by FEM themselves.

BTW, the full load max depth of this vessel is approx 6' 7" (2 m), I'm not sure if that's OK for the entire area of intended use in the Bay of Bengal.

I'll guess it'll be a long way from from the first prototype to the proposed boat, it may be best to set some achievable goals in between.

    Good luck !

Will a Semi V displacement Hull will do the job on shallow water?

Also, best make a SOR (Statement of Requirements) before starting anything else . .

Problem is this illiterate fishermen doesnt know what they want. Only SOR so far I have found going for fishing, carrying back , low tide halts their arrival to fishing port. So they efficient boat to maneuver. They are using govt fiberglass boat , which is prohibited for sale, cause it was donated by USAID, UN and WaterAID and Bangladesh for natural disaster. Below picture is of that boat, which sells around 4000$ in black market. but not efficient enough for their activities. As I have found out this boat was designed by an french naval designer. I dont know what purpose it surves for fishing. Dont find any sense.

I'm thinking about a seaworthy Power Cat* for fishing in the coastal regions of the Bay of Bengal and further on the Indian Ocean.
    * inboard engine or outboard Powered Catamaran
Here's a nice one, follow the links there.

    Good luck !
