    What happened to JP?

Okay, looks like a boundary penalty and he decided to return to the west of the foul.

Yup, JP did get an Ice Exclusion Zone Penalty. In this edition of the race the rules are to exit at the same point (of entry) or further West....

Currently the article on JP is in French only, doubtless it will be translated later.

    tgtony52 ...

Wow. Just discovered this race over the last few days. Almost impossible to conceive how man and machine can endure over such a long distance and in such conditions. And how impressive are these state of the art boats! I am just loving the fact that their masts are aft of the middle of the boat. It seems my decision to move the mast on my little gaff rigged cutter 2 metres further back was not so crazy after all.

Loving the coverage. Keep it up!

Maitre Coq in trouble: (google translation)

Following a technical problem in 30 knots of wind, the mainsail Maître CoQ has slumped. It is now secured on the boom. Jeremiah sails under J3.

The skipper* Master CoQ is safe. He changed course to come out of depression and assess the situation.
    *Jeremie Beyou

    More information soon.

First mast actually broken on Spirit of Yukoh. Interesting to see what Kojiro thinks of climbing to the top a couple of days ago.... great video btw. Hope he is safe and gets a rig working.

Alex is now 110 miles back. Seems like something must be wrong?
