Have you looked at the scamp? I looked at it awhile back, cute little boat, can't find weight now but as I recall it was a bit under 200 lbs without the water ballast

    Hi Minno,

Guess you meant ‘‘a bit under 200 kg’’ there, as it is 420 lbs, which is 190.5 kg.

The gorfnik is the perfect design for me, easy to build out of a few 8' sheets of marine ply

What is the very best strength to weight ratio out of marine ply and just epoxy or fibreglass Matt and epoxy?

I want to keep it as light and strong as possible.

As I mentioned before I want to build an amhibeous micro houseboat, just a case a removable wheels on the leeboards and on the rudder have an electric bike wheel with steering and controls in the cabin

    Hi Silvertooth,

It's specified in the plans what you need, if don't trust the designer, then best don't build from his plans, I think.

I love all the seating (even sleeping) options, and the steering set up for the rudder is ideally suited for a powerful electric bike wheel to be attached to the rudder for propulsion and steering on land

Best build a scaled cardboard model first, to see how it all comes together.

It would also be good to calculate the weight of the added items and the wished other load, and see if you can find a matching max load for the design, to have it floating on the designed waterline.

Best research first the steering characteristics of rear wheel steering before building.
