5 HP Yamaha

I have a 5hp yamaha that I would like to hop up a little...Are there any simple ways ??? Thanks.

You can see if Boysen Reeds are avaiable, posibly a carb from say a 7.5 Hp>> must be same block>> ie: bore and stroke, Bill

 

Get the carb for larger size either mukini or kelhin prefer 2 size above...... change the mainjet and slow jet....... unless u are pro u can do the needle and air jet at the same time...........This twiching does not change the engine..... modif the exhause knalpot but it would mean louder noise, u can decrease the noise by extend the exhause pipe with the inner rubber hose of a bike.........

U will want light porting the exhaust port just to increase the out flow........ porting leave it ti advance person............ 1mm would be ok

Remember 2 stroke is about carburation, compression and ignition........... faster engine with better performance.

Easy if u got friend with a 2 stroke engine experience.............. even the dayak know the machine.........

Best thing I ever did for my small outboard was reduce prop pitch. Dramatic improvement, just don't pitch so low that you over-rev.
