Although not in english, this is a boating related collaborative project that have just seen the light. I want to share and promote it.

    http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/

It is a " Galician Shipbuilding Dictionary" written in the Galician language (of course), and including translations to spanish, portuguese and english.

The Dictionary has a Creative Commons licence and can be freely downloaded from:
    http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/descargardicionario/?lang=gl

It is posssible to make contributions to the Dictionary by using the form at:
    http://dicionarionavalgalego.ingenierosnavales.com/axudenos/?lang=gl

As the Chairman of the Galician Branch of the Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Spanish Institutions (COIN and AINE), I promoted & coordinated the dictionary. I have also collaborated with the technical checking.

I hope it will contribute to broaden the use of the Galician language among the boat and shipbuilding professionals and aficionados, as well as serve as a tool for all those interested in this language of Kings-poets and the maritime culture.

    Cheers.

Congratulation Guillermo. I unfortunatly do not speak the Galician, my boatyard and office was in the Cataluna part of Spain, close to Barcelona.
With great shame, I didn't know that the Galician was a modern language still in use. I apologize for my ignorance. Fortunatly, reading your post I learn a valuable lesson.
    Cheers

Thanks, Guillermo. I always look for new ways to learn new words, especially in Spanish or dialects of it, in order to better communicate with various Spanish speaking people in my area.
I will download this Galician// Dictionary and spend time broadening my knowledge.
    Muito obrigado!
Sorry, no inverted exclamation marks on my keyboard.

It reminds me of being a kid and working as an apprentice to a gallego shipwright, Manolo.

When the computer crashed, this dictionary was one of the data files lost. Now I am grateful I could recover it. As for the meds I think it was another's undoing.

    Hi Hoyt!
A long time since we do not talk. I am afraid I am not very active in these Forums lately.... Facebook is to blame! ;-)
    Warm regards.

Hi, Guillermo! I am also less active.

I have noticed a lot of posts by people wanting to increase their boating vocabulary. This is a good source for us all.

    Que Dios te bendiga.
