HELP please

Hello everyone.

I've been working with Rhino and Maxsurf, but the hull developed in rhino are shown as non-trimmed surface in maxsurf and the trim tool in maxsurf is very useless to work with those untrimmed surfaces.

I must work with existing design and I just need the bare hull to work with Hydromax.

Anyone can tell me wich is the best method to put in a hull in Maxsurf?

I've been working importing dxf and iges and no one satisfied me. Is there another way?

I would like to work with GHS software, where can i find it for free (non-trial)?

There is another thread around on the same subject. Basically, Maxsurf ignores the trimming data in the IGES file. This could well be because the trim routine can't handle it. I don't know, I didn't write the software. One way to avoid the problem would be to re-build the hull surfaces in Rhino and then export them.

I have been doing that, but is a little tedious and still don't works.

Looks like I need another software for hydrostatics calculations instead Hydromax.

I'll see the another threads with more patience.

I have exaclty same problem. I have to deliver production lines fairing in IGES file. But my customer can't impot it into Maxurf for hydrostatics calculations. Maybe somebody knows what to do?

 

Now I'm working with control point(surfaces) in Maxsurf, and some surfaces that I can't design easily in Maxsurf, I design them in rhino and then export it in Maxsurf with very good results.

About Hydromax...How Hydromax read the hull?..for example in the folder "sample designs\Hydromax sample" this sample appears without transom surface. Hydromax assumes there is a transom?.

Pro user, you better find a way to do the model on maxsurf your self and send it to the client, you won't find a way to do it for now, the only way I can see is if you provide a ghs file to the client so he can open it with hydrolink and then import it into hydromax, but if he wants the model in Maxsurf so he can use the workshop module then forget it, has to be re-model in maxsurf or export the original model without trimming any surface, open it on maxsurf and re-trim.

If the client wants the model for hydrostatics, guessing that you are using rhino for your model, then save it as a GHS and get a copy of GHSview that can fix errors on the ghs file created by rhino, this way you can send a clean GHS file to the client so he can open it with hydrolink.

For existing Hulls, You require MAxSurf Software "Prefit". which can develop maxsurf hull using exisitng Offset table.

 

Hydromax, Maxsurf-Pro, Hull Speed, MultiFrame, GHS etc. are all license protected Software. Not freeware.
