Change the prop on that trolling motor for a model aeroplane one and a spinner and it will go faster with less current ...8x8 or 10x8 ..I have a 24v 86 lb unit run on 12v on my 15 ft boat ( 40 kg bare)...4 kts

At about 1000 rpm in water these props exhibit similar efficiency characteristics to 15000 rpm in air...if you study the thread efficient electric boat you will get the idea ...you must run the troller in reverse as theyare all left handed unless you go prop first.

Those props are available in left or right hand version. Ask at the hobby shop for a pusher prop. Post 604 this thread shows the one I used.

Here is a stand up paddle board that uses a "Jet" powered by a Honda GX35 4 stroke weed wacker style motor.

Powering it with an electric would be a good option. The impeller should have been trimmed down more before making the videos because it only got to about 60% of the engines max RPM.

I made the units for the inventor at my machine shop. He got six patents on the system and wants to sell them to any one interested. I have no financial interest in his company or future proceeds of any sale.

    It is USCG approved.
