    That will be a lot easier and lighter, than counting the fasteners shown in the drawing to figure out roughly how many to use.

    I plan to run the Great Loop so definitely don't want my socks getting wet :D

    I can only hope my frame looks half that good when I assemble it.

    In the big picture, if you skip the fasteners in the gussets, the great loop is still very viable. Of course, I use literally pounds (and pounds and pounds) of temporary fasteners, to hold things together as the epoxy cures, once so, they're just not necessary. Failure will be in the glue line, not a screw pulling out of a gusset.

    I certainly agree with that. In the wood projects I have done in the past a good glue joint is stronger than the wood itself. Try to separate it along the glue line and you are far more likely to get a ragged tear than a clean separation on the seam.

    Yeah, this is what makes taped seam and other "goo and go" methods work, the bond line is stronger than the substrate, so . . . If people only truly knew what is holding stuff together, they'd make major life decisions, so don't ask what holds together passenger jet wings and you will not get scared.
