Many BC builders head south to Edensaw in Port Townsend to buy plywood. Its cheaper doing that (even including the ferry rides and paying the import duties) than buying in BC. They give good discounts on bulk orders. 12mm is USD95 for a single sheet on todays pricelist.

If you are looking at 12mm ply you are thinking of building a 12m long cat, or bigger. I suggest if you have a budget restraint that you think about a smaller boat

My Vardo builder still seems happy with his boat and a family of 4 live aboard cruising

Thanks for the suggestion on plywood, but actually I decided to go with 12mm Nidacore (PP honeycomb)for the main material, doubling up for bulkheads, decks, and roofs. I felt confident about it after talking with another builder currently using it in a 12 meter boat. The cost savings is just phenomenal.

Also, I have decided to build a smaller boat something around 30ft/10m. It's much more prudent as a first time builder. And I like the small catamaran concept. There's not enough of them out there!

I finally watched your "Multihull sailors have more fun" video yesterday. I may end up sending you a design I have, and see if you think its possible to incorporate into some plans I can purchase. I feel like you are possibly one of the most knowledgable and experienced designers out there, and I trust pretty strongly your advice. But as I said, I need to work out the drawings first.
