    Hello All,

Long time lurker here. I am keen to pursue a home built alternative to the jet surfboards available on the market at the moment, similar to: http://jet-surf.com/en/

From what i can extrapolate from the technical specs on the website, and the general dimensions of the board they seem to be using a 100cc watercooled two stroke. It is pretty easy to pick up an equivalent go kart engine, but my issue is matching a pump for the limited HP.

With good tuning and maybe a cylinder bore I believe you could get the engine to churn out 20 hp at high rpm's (10,000?) but the smallest Kawasaki pumps are all matched to circa 35hp and presumably a fair amount more torque.

My question is will a pump from something like a Kawasaki 440 work as a bodge in this application or will i need to make my own? I had a thought that maybe i could turn down the impeller and build my own housing, but haven't the knowledge to consider the effects of pitch, blade count and shape etc.

A pipe dream at the moment so feel free to shoot down the above..

    Thanks!
    Will
