Many members and guest don't specify a location. Many questions and problems are particular to a country or local conditions. I think it would be easier to answer or understand posting knowing the member's location. Should the location field be required?

I think that’s a good suggestion... I plan on retooling a lot of the templates when we move to vBulletin 3.x later this spring or early this summer, so if not before, I'll implement a change then to either highly encourage or require the location field.

Just a note that due to popular demand, entering a Location is now required for new members when they sign up.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

--and asking guests for a location will be next on the to-do list, but after the 2.2.x -> 3 upgrade
