Brian- design displacement was 4000kg. So by the time I have fuel and a few extra bits on there as well as a couple people etc 4000 should pull it up no probs. It's 2900 empty so. ..... Center of gravity is where it should be too so it's all looking pretty good as far as the original plan I made nearly 4 years ago... amazing what a little maths will do for ya :D
btw- if I get rid of a bit of the fudge factor, speed should be closer to 32kts. ..

So the test run weight will be closer to 3000kg than 4000 kg ? Or is the 2900Kg exclusive of engines ?

No it weighs 2900 as it stands right now in the last photos Inc engines etc. It will be about 3500kg when we take her out, a couple people and a bit of fuel in the tanks etc.

Yeah its light... the crane driver who lifted her a few weeks ago asked me - "whats it weigh?"
i said " should be about 3 tonne mate".
crane driver says - "bull ****"
after the lift up onto the drums, I said " how heavy",
he just nodded and said yep, 3 tonne...

water tank was full at the time so I deducted another 100kg... ill put 200L of fuel into her when shes on the water, and there will be at least 3 people on board so... probbaly be under 3500kg for the water test...

You'll have to make your own waves, for test purposes. I expect you must get some noticeable dynamic lift with a light weight pushed along by 2x115.

well its all said and done now :) Had some serious butterflies whilst it all took place but everything went well... She floats "close" to her lines - a little stern heavy but not too bad... First time we opened her up and managed 27kts @ 5000rpm - props are too coarse to acheive proper rpm @ 5800. I have to keep it short as we heading out to the reef on this glorious day - will update more soon... happy days :D :D :D

Outstanding job Groper. Well researched design, commitment and persistence (an no little skill!) in building. Big kudos! You should be very happy and deserve to be!
