    Hi all,

I am a committee member of our universities' marine projects society and currently looking out for marine projects and competitions taking place worldwide so that I can encourage the students in our department/society to take part.

As of now we are working on a human powered submarine. A few that I have researched include yacht design, ferry design projects (paper/digital submission projects) and an ROV building competition. If there are any other/similar projects could you kindly post it below. Perhaps with a link to their webpage as well? It would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    A M Menon

    Superior Hulls

If you look at my website, you will read about my discovery based invention, but the problem I have found, is the very skeptical conservative approach in the industry, preferring to copy and not lead others in innovations - which is not what I am looking for, as I need to locate my 1st Commercial Partner, capable of protecting the special new know how of my discovery, its related inventions and our new products-lines and hulls design - all of which are still ahead of all others, even tough my original discovery is almost 45 years old...

I am now living in Israel, and if you like to reach me, try email and then Skype for better sharing what the opportunity has to offer or how does it reach the Global Maritime Markets.

I disagree, innovation and the willingness to it is all over the industry, though can be frustrating at times, just like any new product or service might initially encounter.

A M Menon, in regard to Amnon's post, take this with a grain of salt. His previous posts here have been rather contentious (to say the least) and his business approuch, as well as his ability to communicate his "invention's" benefit/cost or any other comparison, to justify implementation has been less than what most would consider reasonable. I would strongly recommend you read through some of his previous discussions here, before making any commitments.

To directly answer your questions, well there are all sorts of competitions and challenges possible for your students. Of course some inventiveness on your part will be necessary, but it's leg work, the old fashioned way I presume that will eventually prevail. Contact WoodenBoat Magazine and see if they have any new design contests coming up. In this vein, you might consider contact with most of the major trade publications, as these are common places to find out what's coming up.

So you disagree with me and I disagree with you, knowing what I know and have and discovered - but for a yet unknown inventor or invention, a trusting mariner will be wiser to be less critical and be open to facts and truth found in all my claims here and on the www where more is found in my search for the proper commercial partner to partner with.
It is clear to me, that anyone following your recommendations, will not be wise to think language or clarity has anything to do with facts and truth I am sharing or the wisdom I employ.
I do have a demonstration commitment from a world class large vessel manufacturer, but not yet from a major boats manufacturer that I like to work with - which is why I keep seeking to enter this market despite the negative critics...

Gonzo, this guy isn't going to try anything, other than baiting discussion forums and anyone that will listen. He's not going to offer any real details about his innovation (which is likely just in his mind). He also has the most beautiful wife in the world, but of course will not tell us her name or post pictures, for fear someone might sweep her way. I'm sure the folks that "beamed up" Elvis, will be back for this one soon enough . . . The E Challenge? Are you kidding, there's no way he could drag his baby across the beach, for the hand launch portion of the start, without resorting to tarps and other race illegal contrivances, to hide his secrets. this one is afraid of the light . . .

I think the OP has a similar name but is a different person. He says he is a student in the UK.

    Hi AmnonMikeCohen,

Thank you for the offer but I'm currently only looking for marine related inter university sort of competitions to take part in. Our society is not a business and I'm afraid I cannot take part in any sort of commercial dealings.

    Regards,

    Good luck with your project

There is Scientific as well as commercial business aspects to my project, but I thank you for your note and like to wish you well in your project, which seems fine for its own special value to the sport and hobby plus maybe work underwater, and getting there faster then swimming...
It is always better when you have a team, working together, for better results - and trying to make news if you have no secrets to protect...

Again, thanks and wishing you success as well, Amnon.
