There are lots of places to get plans for runabouts. Start with Glen-L.com.

    Welcome to the forum.

If you want an attractive, well designed and good performing wooden runabout, you shouldn't use cut rate plans. You get what you pay for generally and plans cost, is a small fraction of the overall project, so choose wisely. So consider spending a few hundred (at least) on a reasonable set of plans instead of less, where you might just get what you paid for. Maybe I should ask, what do you think is a "fortune" for plans costs?

Ok good stuff so I'm new to using a forum seems like there's a lot good advice being given the price of plans has been around the 300 to 400 mark Its very important tho that the boat I make looks stunning as this will be the first of menny I hope and the small detales are very critical to me as I'm a bit of a perfectionist

If you want it to look "stunning", this is a simply a matter of craftsmanship. There are several styles of runabout, often associated with a particular era or production model. Which are you interested in?

    For example:

This is a Hankinson Barrelback 19.

Maybe a more tradisional double cockpit, like:

    This is the Glen-L Riviera.

I'm unfamiliar with "Miss Cilla", but suitability is a decision, only you can make. Can you post a link for Miss Cilla?

Miss Cilla is the owner's boat name. The model is the Hankinson BarrelBack 19, available through the Glen-L site. It's an old design and though has the classic barrel back look, also performs like they did, which compaired to a modern design is relatively poor. These plans cost $230. If you don't have much experience with boat building, this wouldn't be the best design to cut your teeth on.

How much of a scale down? Generally this isn't wise, though respacing the station molds on a smaller center to center, can decrease the length without nearly as much hydrodynamic harm.
