I am still waiting for the damned Energy Polarizer to improve my fuel consumption ! Maybe it only works after the first 25 years ?

You mean the magnet that clips around your fuel line? :D

You must have installed it with the wrong polarity!

Try turning it upside down. :p

Only works with high octane leaded fuels though, not with unleaded. :)

Engineered for V8 muscle cars, not 4bangers.

Modern light weights are so skimpy on fuel use, there isn't sufficient fuel being polarized to show any significant difference.

Now, if you were only getting 8 miles to the gallon, you'd notice an extra 5 mile range between fill-ups.

Who is funding that E-cat business ? I suppose the world is full of people who'll play with their chemistry sets so long as they have funding.

I have a GHOST in my home at present, turning on the TV when it`s on stand by and switching the mute button back on and many other things happening which are not supposed to.
If this can happen to me it can also happen in Military Installations surely.
Maybe lots of nasty things are inbuilt in the hardware we do not know about.
I know the Oceans around New Zealand are getting into a bigger mess every day and our weather has gone crazy.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Catalyzer

"The Energy Catalyzer (also called E-Cat) is a purported cold fusion device[1][2] which was devised by inventor Andrea Rossi[3] with support from physicist Sergio Focardi.[4][5] An Italian patent, which received a formal but not a technical examination, describes the apparatus as a "process and equipment to obtain exothermal reactions, in particular from nickel and hydrogen"

"Other reactions to the device have been mixed. In 2011 Dennis M. Bushnell, Chief Scientist at NASA Langley Research Center, described LENR as a "promising" technology and praised the work of Rossi and Focardi.[52]

Theoretical nuclear physicist Yeong E. Kim of Purdue University has proposed a potential theoretical explanation of the reported results of the device,[53] but has stated that, for confirmation of this theory, "it is very important to carry out Rossi-type experiments independently."[54] Kim had previously put forward this theory to explain the results of the discredited Fleischman and Pons cold fusion experiment in 1989.[55]"

"An application in 2008 to patent the device internationally received an unfavorable preliminary report on patentability at the World Intellectual Property Organization[57] from the European Patent Office, noting that the description of the device was based on "general statements and speculations" and citing "numerous deficiencies in both the description and in the evidence provided to support its feasibility" as well as incompatibilities with "generally accepted laws of physics and established theories."[58] The patent application was published on 15 October 2009.[1]

On 6 April 2011 an application was approved by the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, which issued a patent for the invention, valid only in Italy. Under then-current Italian law, the examination of the application was more formal and less technical than for the corresponding PCT application.[59][1][60]

In March 2014 the US Patent Office replied to Rossi's US patent application with a provisional decision to reject it, saying "The specification is objected to as inoperable. Specifically there is no evidence in the corpus of nuclear science to substantiate the claim that nickel will spontaneously ionize hydrogen gas and therefore 'absorb' the resulting proton".[61][62]

On 25 August 2015 the US Patent Office granted a patent for an "apparatus for heating fluid".[10] The patent made no mention of LENR or cold fusion and specified the presence of a power source (such as an electrical heating element) with a porosity-enhanced mixture of 50% nickel powder, 20% lithium powder, and 30% lithium aluminum hydride powder in thermal contact with a fluid to initiate a nickel-catalyzed exothermic reaction.[63]"

Do I believe in the E-Cat?
I'm a natural skeptic. Test everything.

The reasons people believe in things, even lies sometimes, is:
Because they WANT it to be true!
    or
They're afraid it MIGHT be true!

I certainly want/hope for cold fusion to be true! It would solve SO MANY problems!

But, I caution, let's wait and see.

    We have one, too, Tom.
It only manifests when someone is home alone.
It used to only open and close pocket doors, but then it started slamming hinged doors. Then car doors, but without setting off the alarm. Then it started turning lights on and off, but without the buzzing sound from the relay on my low-voltage lighting controls.
    Wonder what he'll do next.

    "Funding

Tom Darden, CEO of Cherokee Investment Partners and others have invested more than $10 million in cold fusion, including in Rossi's Ecat, and his company Industrial Heat LLC bought the rights to the E-cat technology from Rossi in January of 2014.[11][12][13][14]"

Yo, you'd have to reckon that as being a long-shot to be a success, I can't imagine the billions that have been invested over the decades in fusion research, were this idea to work, it would rate as an embarrassment of epic proportions for the "hot" fusion brigade.

As I repeatedly have said, I'm not claiming anything other than HOPE!

My attitude is, as of the conflicting reports regarding the success /fraud of Rossi's 1980s biofuel process, perhaps it was just he was ahead of it's time, or he was one of many failed experimenters. but inconsequential for today.
    Today, no-one doubts biofuel technology.
Perhaps Rossi's E-Cat results in failure but paves the way for some other scientists success at cold fusion.
Perhaps later this year, no-one will doubt cold fusion technology.
"The story goes that "Thomas Edison failed more than 1,000 times when trying to create the light bulb.
When asked about it, Edison allegedly said, "I have not failed 1,000 times. I have successfully discovered 1,000 ways to NOT make a light bulb."

Alarmists worry me. They fret over everything!
From accidental ICBM launches to ocean fish becoming extinct, to man being a plague on planet earth, to worsening weather and climate change, ect.
Not the calm, cool, collected, rational sort of people I want planning our future!
Cold fusion would yank the carpet from beneath the panicky alarmists, and provide cheap clean energy for everybody on earth.

Good luck Mr Rossi, or to your successors!

PS: BIG OIL paid me to promote cold fusion in household sized and automobile sized power packages. Yeah! Right!

Many reports over centuries, of overboard seamen being pushed ashore by dolphins.
It's charming and comforting to believe they knowingly rescued these people.

In a dark turn of mind, perhaps dolphins just enjoy pushing people?
Anybody pushed AWAY from shore, we aren't likely to hear about! :D

You could have seen the reflection on high clouds of an altitude burst, range shown as orange.

Not knowing the altitude of the burst, precludes any mathematical calculation.
So, I graphed the shortest and longest possible ranges, using a model earth as the graph.
You were at about maximum range, but I believe you, you said you saw a burst, must have been 1962.
Other tests were beyond visual range of even the reflection on high clouds.
