CT 41 ketch- looking very charming

 

So it is faster with 3 hulls? I crew professionally on catamaran but never on a trimaran. I like a lot of elements of catamarans but can't see my self parting with such a big amount of money for fun. I think you need to be rich to do buy something that expensive. So a trimaran i think must cost a lot more.
Do you have pictures of your boat?

 

I am boatless right now, but thinking about a small daysailing tri. Homebuilt.
Nothing that would compare to your cat job or the Ketch you want.

 

Because faster is not necessarily more fun. One of the classes I sail has an official 500m speed record of over 50 knots (set by a guy who was about 14 places ahead of me at the world titles eons ago) but from some points of view it's dead boring to sail.

 

I want a boat that sails. Slow or fast is irrelevant to me. I am not racing. Ct is pretty yes. People don't think the best of them. But if it gets you and back and look pretty thats enough for me

 

Upchurchmr I was thinking of a homebuilt too for dinghy or a little day sailer. But I like the idea to have a boat to retire on

I did discover the joy of sailing an open monohull in Japan. Imagine my surprise when we anchored and had lunch. Never in my life had I thought of doing that, and it is one of the best parts of that sail.

I expect to find other interesting things, there being no racing locally.
I was never very good at racing anyway. I just liked the speed of the Tornado Cat I had.

Retiring on a boat is not reasonable in inland Texas, and my wife would not be interested.
