the outside contour of that box only needs to be 2 or 3 centimeters wide and no higher than the anchor itself. If he makes a lightweight cover for that box in the same material as his hull, he can easyli sit on that or stand on it.

Just and idea....probably a useless one..

 

As said, the cost of a few cm of interior space was the only downside I could think of, and it was just a little one that was inspired by the idea that Sven is fiddling with every cm inside the boat. In my previous post I acknowledged not to drive screws into the hull as an advantage of the box. The above mentioned capabilities to sit or stand on the box are also advantages, as is that it's less harmful to fall on a box than on bare anchors. Overall I think the Divinycell anchor box would be an improvement, worth the few cm interior space it takes.

water contamination

I've read Sven's idea of using his breath to pump water out of his larger containers into smaller bottles and wonder if this might contaminate his water supply.
It seems like room temperature water and bacteria from his mouth might lead to nasty growth in the tanks.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?

 

Something I certainly would try-out before putting it in use, smoker or non-smoker lungs... It's not the air from the lungs that might contaminate but what the airstream picks-up, passing through the mouth into the cannister.
On the other hand, 50 years ago we used to go swimm in canals, shared a cola with 3 kids never washed our hands when we ate candy and sometimes even chewing gumm changed mouths.....

50 years ago I was 13 and swopped gum with a girlfriend
and learned a wicked thing called "French kissing" and the rest is history
we were soooooo innocent compared to todays kids

so I would not worry too much about Sven blowing into his water bottles

ABOUT GERMS AND CONTAMINATION​

At least Grandfather survived it and was able to tell about his experience. So if it was the last water I would take his advice and drink it rather than die of dehydration. By storing it for the last hopefully gives it time to rot the required three times, and the need to use it could be canceled in that time by not needing it because of new supplies of rainwater or maybe landfall.

Sven you have devoted readers, appendicitis is a wrong example in your case, but indeed another acute medical necessity could force to landfall and it's a good thing to be prepared for it and share the precautions with your fans . . .
