I was just wondering if anyone might be interested in a 1953? Borum mahogany runabot with trailer. I believe it is the Ranger model, about 16 feet long. I first stripped it and repainted it at 8 years old after seeing my first woodenboat magazine. My father didn't have the money for a new engine as the original was seized so it has been sitting for about 28 years now. We had it tarped up but still it got enough rain that my paint eventually bubbled off but the wood is still sound. The deck is sanded down to bare mahogany and the hull is mostly stripped of old paint. I still have the original windshield although it has about a 6" crack. The wooden decorative "fins" that go down each side of the cockpit were damaged but I still have them to use as a pattern. All the wood and the boat as a whole seems to be structurally sound. It comes with a single axle trailer. I may have some other assorted hardware still lying about. I kind of want to restore it myself as it was my great-grandfathers but I don't have the time or space right now. I would like to get something for it so if you have any interest please email me at ezrolith23@hotmail.com and i can send some pics. Located in Grand Rapids, MI.

    1950s borum runabout in MI

Here are some pics although it is stuck in a small garage now. As shown the deck is stripped bare and most of the paint is off of the outside of the hull. The windshield is included although cracked. The original evinrude throttle unit and the steering wheel are included.

HI, I purchased your boat from the auction. I would love to know if you still have the engine seized or not and or any items from the boat. I would love to see a picture of what she looked like new.
