So what are you saying Frank? That your buddy Tony has a gift rating with his souped up Hunter?

The question posed by zerogara was in reference to race boats, not floating condos. New race boats over 45ft are being built every day. Just because a deep draft boat doesn't fit in your marina doesn't mean it won't fit in someone elses. Swing keels are great for cruisers who want to gunkhole. They are useless on a race boat. Try to get your insanely dense melon out of the PNW for five minutes and take a look around the rest of the world. No one on earth agrees with you and your complete fabrication of what sailboat racing should be. Don't you find that odd?

That must be a hell of a sales pitch. "Now that you're fully committed to sailing, come on over and join our club. By the way, you'll need to quit sailing and buy a stinkpot, but we all did it and are having a great time crewing on our friends' sailboats again." Where do I sign up?

What he's saying is that once again, he has no ******* clue as to what he's talking about.

And Frank, I'm sure Tony wouldn't appreciate you (especially you) bringing up his name in your lunatic ramblings so STFU.

"These were designed to prove that a boat with cruising accomodations could be a racer"

Isn't that a cruiser / racer? I thought this thread was about TP 52's (which are GP racers). As to IRC seems a TP52 once again won in IRC for the race down to KWRW - any comments Frank?

I'm starting to see the big picture here, and to realize that Tony turbo'd his Hunter and has been behind schedule in notifying his PHRF board, and that Frank is doing us his comerades a favor by outing this antisocial ne'erdowell. Nice job Frank. I don't expect Tony will feel the same way about it.

Photoshop some sails into that pic and you can see where Frankie gets his ideas from. I've yet to see one of those things move faster than 5kts without the warp drive engaged.

Weather predcition for this weekend is 30-40 for the race his club is running. Anyone care to wager what excuse Frankie will use for not racing?

I think his radar tower is only rated for 20kt winds. He might want to stay ashore with his fellow powerboaters.

By MIGHETTO "I just purchased a UK Tape sail. The warranty was for 5 years except when I had the race numbers put on, the sailmaker invoked a 2 year warranty clause. Such are the ways of racing. I also spent a good time at Boston Harbor defending our SSSS wimp sailboat operators who instead of banging up their race gear waited out a 30 knot squall in the harbor on the way back from a race. Apparently the community had been looking forward to carnage."

Aaawh come on, HWN is not gonna want to blow out that new UK Tape Drive, even though he claims there is a two year warranty on it.

Frank was pretty explicit back in the old SA thread that the modern sailing yacht, such as the Mac26x, is designed explicitly to motor out of the way of major storms and put into harbor when the wind gets up into that range. How would he accomplish that during an ocean crossing (which you know the Mac26x is capable of)? By hitching a ride with passing freighters or military ships, of course.

So what excuse will Frank use this weekend? I predict he will accuse anyone who does go out of behaving irresponsibly and will duck any questions of his boat's seaworthiness or his own ability.

You mean Frank didn't race in 30 knots? After all of his silliness about 52 not being able to race in big breeze his group pulls the plug. In KW the TP 52 raced in 28 – 34 TWS without even needing to reef the mains. So much for one more of Franks silly little lies.
