Ezifold Yachts Limited is a Company designing and building unique marine products.

The Company specialises in the design and build of performance marine products and accessories. We build our own hi performance multihull yachts for a niche market.

This year we are progressing one of our unique designs into the final prototyping stage pre patent, followed by pre-production stages.

Currently we have a vacancy in our Design and engineering Team for an exceptional contract CAD/3D Drafts-person or a Mechanical Design Engineer competent in marine composite engineering to be based in Christchurch.

This is a key role where you will be working directly with our head of design and responsible for liaison with our contracted International design and engineering team.

Some typical tasks and outcomes:
Design of marine components and assemblies from concept to manufacture, with a strong Design for Manufacturing focus
Drafting and modelling of 2D/3D componentry and assemblies
Modelling for 3D printing and rapid prototyping
Digitizing existing plans
Creation of manufacturing drawings including part lists, BOM's and the generation of appropriate supporting technical documentation such as Technical Specification Sheets, BOM's, Manufacturing SOP's
Assisting with new systems and part design and development
Co-ordinating the manufacture and testing of selected prototype componentry and assemblies.

This role is for a competent CAD/3D drafts person or a degree qualified mechanical engineer with at least five years' experience in component design, including 3D design, use of FEA software and able to undertake FMEA. It requires a person with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a broad range of technical staff, end users and other contracted professional engineers.
An advanced ability to think outside of the square while designing solutions to our unique design challenges along with practical application in a mechanical environment are foundational, while being a highly organised and systematic person who can work to very strict deadlines. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a talented multi-disciplined team of National and International designers, engineers and staff on an exciting product line at the forefront of the marine industry.

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate your experience, relevant training and qualifications.

A passion for the marine industry and sailing multihulls would be a definite advantage.
