    be nice if the dolly was street legal.

    also neat if the boat and parts could be stored vertically to save parking, since it seems light enough to manhandle.

    how about a motor version?

    I'm thinking 10hp would be more than plenty.

    A very impressive boat design. The only negative I see is the weight at 48kg is not impressive but it might just be 'bulletproof'. Price, operation characteristics, and performance all look like hits! Glad to see the US generating a fair share of orders.

    An update from Andrew McDougall(AMAC):

    The development of the WASZP has been significantly more challenging and time consuming than I imagined. It is so important to get everything right and there have been so many times where we’ve had to make what we call a ‘catastrophic’ change: one thing that did not work and we’ve had to roll back many components – injection moulded parts, aluminium extrusions, moulds – things that we committed that in the end needed to be changed.
    On the other hand, the way the WASZP performs now, I’m really happy – the numbers it is hitting, its controllability and ease of foiling are all exceeding my expectations.

    Sail change-bolt rope sail ditched:
    http://www.waszp.com/blog/waszp-status

    From AMAC:
    "If you read my last blog I was fully committed to going with a bolt rope sail. We are not going that way. We have solved the issue of rigging the cambered sail by simply reducing the weight of the rig. The prototype mast we have been using was a lot heavier than the new production mast, and the new sail is also significantly lighter than the original prototype sail. It’s now much much easier to get the mast in. It’s amazing what a kilo or two will do when it’s 5 m away from you!"

    Well it looks like they have done it! It appears that the extra time has been used wisely to refine the product -hopefully avoiding the the regrets of past one design boats. They checked all the boxes, $10k, fast setup and launch, robust and consistent production... and from what I can see, it looks like it will be a very profitable product.

    The only improvement I see needed is a big cut in the shipping cost. They should offer a 'fleet' price for 20 boats in a container.

    This would be my best bet to be the next new Olympic sailing class.
