    Very easy,

Have a portfolio of your past designs with performance as measured underway to send out.

Pretend we are the customer, and show us a picture or drawing of your boat, perhaps. You can practice your salesmanship here !

Find out where people who buy boats go to buy their boats & go to that place with your collection of boat designs & show them around. What kind of boats have you designed? Have you any photographs?

In past days a sail designer would build a boat , race it and the customers would flock to a winner.

Advertising in local boating papers ,magazines is usually expensive .

With a good build the least costly way to gain exposure is to have a magazine do an article.

Either to cover a voyage the boat made or perhaps as a test run article on the virtues of your new design.

Most mags will do an article , IF , you advertise , at least in that issue.

What do you have to sell? The approach is very different for a kayak, a powerboat, a racing sailboat, a cruising sailboat, a megayacht, etc.

Take 10 years apprenticing in a well recognized NA's office, then strike out on your own, with the skills and expertise to succeed with your own office. There's no easy way or single answer to your question. The fact you've asked, suggests you have no experience, previous commissions or any practical business experience either. Simply put, you have earn your commissions, there's no free rides.
