hydrofoils for keels

This Catalina I found was pretty well in my price range, but had no keel until I found put that to even have a rough cut out chunk of steel heavy enough to ballast her would cost $2,315.00. Nothing like I could afford, but I did come up with a foil that will have less drag and help her point higher.

 

Think WWII aircraft.

 

So the point or the question is...?

2,300 for a sheet of steel? That sounds like waaaay to much. I'd shop around more.

 

The stupid boat got sold to someone else because the bank didn't send me my pin number with my bank card and the day before I got it in the mail he sold it. Still no boat! I'm about to give up and just want to die. Been dreaming of a nice sailboat since 2010. Nobody in my family wants me to have one because they're all afraid of water. I told them I was getting this one and they all started praying again me getting it. Someone even gave me three thousand dollars and again I almost had a boat... Almost! Then I forgot to get a ticket for the county tri rail because I had this girl with me. I hate life, everything seems to tease me like, here, looky... Oh wait no, u can't have it... I hate life! I'll never get off the streets and I just want a boat to live on.

 

Your absolutely kidding yourself, if you think living on a boat will save you. It's much more costly to live aboard than on land. In your situation, you'd be best advised to bank the bucks and use it for the needs of daily life

Boating is never inexpensive.

Nor is living anywhere on the water.

Seeing the ocean, you will pay 50%-100% more.

On the ocean, you will pay 2x to 10x the price of being a few miles inland.

 

I understand this. The costs aren't really what I'm worried about. I've wanted a boat since I can remember. Everyone tells me I can't have one. First, it was because I didn't know enough,then it was that I lived in the wrong place. Well I've fixed that. Moved to Florida. Then it was the cost of the boat. Well I found out that I can get them for free so now I'm doing that. Just found an Morgan out island 28. Now I'm just having to get the sixty miles to where it is. I am done with ppl telling me o can't do something.

 

It's not that you can't do something, such as live on a boat - just that it's a whole lot more costly, compared to living on land. Maybe you think you can just find a nice spot and drop anchor, but you'll be pretty surprised when harbor patrol taps on your hull and asks you move every 24 hours. This leaves a mooring or berth as options and there's plenty of places to do this, but, not cheaply, especially in your area. The inland areas of the Saint Johns and the Okeechobee waterway will be much cheaper, though get a few cases of bug repellant, as you'll need it.

 

How old are you, is it that important that you have your own boat immediately. Do what most of us old sailors do get yourself on as a crew member and check out the reality of sailing life . While it's a bit of fun it's also a lot of responsible hard work along with being able to keep it together while experiencing the sheer terror of a major storm at sea.

 

Like the sheer terror of surfing the most dangerous place I California the first time u ever been surfing? Like being surrounded by four mountain lions? God has me.
