    The Society of Allied Weight Engineers is holding its 74th International Conference on Mass Properties May 16-21 in Alexandria VA.

    SAWE is one of the major players in naval architecture in that weight estimating, control and optimization is critical to the design of many marine systems. (There are a number of standard practices and guides in ship/boat weight control available at the SAWE website.)

    A couple of features of the conference include:

    The annual ShipWeight (software) North American User group meeting.

    Ship Inclining training including a practical demonstration aboard by William Fox.
