    Game On

Well, i have gone through and cut out the rot on the deck and cabin roof. The work Hans did was awesome and has stood up very well! The pieces I have cut out are the parts that Hans left and treated, and even they stood up really well for eight years! I talked to the Wooden Boat Shop guy, who said he raced against Altair many times back in the day, and probably won, haha! Going through the same process as Hans, CEPS on the new wood, then marine primer/undercoater and finish coats.

I have a question on fastening. I noticed that Hans used nails when fastening the deck and roof down, as has been used in the original construction method. Should I be using nails or screws when fastening the new pieces?

    Thanks for any inupt!
