Gluing aluminium to foam

    Well said. Why the hell would you bother with that other crap when you weld up a solid alloy hull .

    Thanks guys for your input, it was very valuable. My initial idea was to weld an aluminium skin and then glue (polyurethane) the prefabricated glass and foam reinforcement parts into it. This might be still the preferred option, even though it is far more expensive and labour intensive.
    The next question of course is whether the extra cost make a better product in the end. I will post another tread “Aluminium or Glass and Foam” to get a wider perspective.

    I am thinking ally will give you the best hull and highest resale value. It has a lot going for it.

    If he is proficient at aluminium welding, I agree entirely, messing with the other stuff it will be a dog's breakfast. Just need the right plans to build off.
