    It's a long way from being a "widely regarded bible", but I do have a book that touches upon the subject: http://www.amazon.ca/Practical-Design-Advanced-Marine-Vehicles/dp/1497396891

    My treatment of the structural problem is based on following the DNV rules, and using them to describe the types of loads encountered. But you may find it a useful point of departure, and moderately priced.

    Chris, compliments, generally good book giving rather complete overview for starter. Disadvantage: quality of illustrations.
