Today I had a class with a very special teacher, asked for his autograph and took a picture with him.
He told us how he came to work with planing boats, how his research started with hydroplanes during WW2.

Here is Daniel Savitsky talking about the repercussion of his paper of 64.

He is a great guy. I met him in 1984. He had been no. 1 on my list of people I would like to meet, for many years.

thanks for posting. Professor Savitski is truly a great man. Much of today's hydrodynamic analysis is based on his 1964 ground-breaking research. We've spoken several times, and it amazes me just what a great teacher he is and how willing he is to spend time with us engineering peons.

It's great that you had the opportunity of his class. Congratulations!
