how do i make a kick-up rudder for my snipe

    Zammie,

    I don't know if it would actually fit, but Hobie 16 are destroyed all the time because the hull is delaminated in large areas.
    However the rudders/ mast, etc., are still good. You might be able to find one for very low cost.
    Actually they use a different method for putting the blade down. The height of the transom might also be an issue.

    Another thing if you didn't like Par's and others suggestion is that you can search on the Internet for Tornado plans. They have a kickup rudder also, but the blade is probably much too big. Free

    It will be easier to make a new one. The cheeks can be 3/4" Plywood or some hardwood. The blade can be made of aluminum plate. This is the pattern for the rudder.
