    Hi seniors,

I would like to know is there any tutorial video on how to do damage on maxsurf?.... OR any thread that discusses damage stability. I want to learn it.

    Thanks and best regards,

The Maxsurf manual will not teach you how to calculate stability after damage or why. For that you need to study other "manual". When you already know how that is calculated, Maxsurf will tell you what buttons you need to click and text boxes you must fill.
Which is exactly what you need?

There are a few webinars available online which give you a brief overview of how to set up the damage stability analysis. Are you conducting a deterministic or probabilistic assessment? If you are carrying out probabilistic analysis this is only available in the Maxsurf stability enterprise package unless you calculate the damage probabilities separately.

Maxsurf is not going to teach calculate anything, naval architecture programs are only tools that will facilitate the calculation of what you already know to calculate.
The sequence to calculate the damage stability that I use is:
    - Define the model boat
    - Define tanks and compartments
    - Define compartments that can flood in each of the damage situations that I want to study.
    - Define the load conditions for the boat
    - Selecting a load condition (Figure 1)
    - Selecting a damage study in this load condition (Figure 2)
    - Select the criteria and the "3.2.2.5" option (Figures 3 and 4)
    - Press the "calculate" button.

    Hope this help.

Do you mean "mast and rig" calculation?. No, is this is your question. You can use my SCT sotware to do it.

Yeah you can find them on youtube. There will also be variations in the analysis depending on the ship type under consideration. Further to the outline mentioned by TANSL you may also want to define key points such as down flooding points in order to accurately conduct the analysis.

Sorry man, I had not understood. But now I understand even less.
"oil rigs semi subs .. jack ups etc." Among the many calculations can be made with these devices, which ones do you mean ?. I am not able to guess what you need.

Oh...my apologiz... i want to study damage stability for ship analysis. And is there any possible that this maxsurf can calculate the angle of heel of an on oil rig. Example i have a semi sub type rig... have 4 big legs... then i damage the one leg how much will it heel etc... i have the excel sheets. Because that is my job. so im just curios and i want to use maxsurf if it can calculate the angle of heel of oil rigs...
