A paper or computer design has certain things that can be claimed - in theory.

As we all know, in theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Thus, claims about performance et al of a boat design that has not been built remain claims without empiric verification.

Well, since i'm here.... I'll tell you what, i'll draw a scaled drawing of a large button, not something but an actual button. With a nice white casing and red colour for the button, the button is smooth and rounded at its end and fit nicely into the palm of the hand etc. with a small central shaft that clearly is designed to move into the casing once the button is depressed. On the button it says "press here". And my claim is that if you press the button, one is instantly transported from the spot one is standing in, to another part of the world of ones choosing, all in the blink of an eye. No need for aircraft any more
