We need fewer politicians and more statesmen who are not themselves statists.

EVERYBODY OVER 18 SHOULD PAY SOME TAX. IF NOT THEY NEVER WANT TO MAKE ENOUGH TO GET AHEAD AND TO HAVE TO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE.
    Even it it's one dollar.

Tax consumption, not industry. It would promote thrift and not punish productivity.

In the EU they call that VAT. It is heading this way although the present administration wants only the privileged, IE: people that work harder than others, to pay the bill.
It will be the law some day.
I say tax the heck out of cigarettes and alcohol.
    What say you?

Poor joke Sam-Sam :( Perhaps you should investigate what "democracy" really is, because it certainly is not what it pretends to be. Then you will begin to understand why the world is falling apart and why no country progress. The USA is still a British colony, and the worst government combination you can get is democracy (deamoncrazy) combined with the malicious Westminster system. It spells destruction from start to end.

I say those considering themselves elite wants you to work like a slave, no rights and you will be barely kept alive until they don't need what you can do any more. You will only have the right to breed them the next government slave. A democracy always change into a dictatorship run as a police or military state. Always. No country ever had a successful democratic history, it always ends the same way.

And if you do actually read up on things, take note that they deliberately commit fraud by changing the facts. For instance, the Romans became so powerful under a republican system, you can now read they became so powerful under a democracy. The two are light years apart, but your governments want you to think they are the real thing. A real republic are governed by the people themselves, not by "leaders" exploiting the hell out the people and the country. The republican party in the US is as big a banana republic as the one we had under Verwoerd, it serves exactly the same purpose as what was before. And mainly people don't have an idea what the words mean they use. But it sounds good.

Too many self serving crooks are present in every party, not representing those who put them in office.

Normal people don't make gangs or organizations for the purpose of gaining an advantage off others. They don't have to, because they can functions responsibly in a society. There are two kinds of white people, those with conscious, and those without. I have an idea where those without conscious come from, and it has to do with "religion", but maybe another time.

Since we seem to be on politics for a moment....

We haven't spent enough to protect our posterity from our overspending.

True: back in the 80's I read a report that much of the plumbing in the federal buildings in DC were leeching lead into the drinking water ... at the time I reckoned that could explain a lot.

Eliot Spitzer should have left his resignation letter on the nightstand with $5000 like the comic said.

I believe that we need to amend our tax code so that whatever taxes are imposed, or whatever deductions or exemptions are available, that members of Congress should pay twice the going rate and get half the benefit respectively, and that this liability should persist for 5 full continuous years after leaving Government (which would include appointed positions subsequent to being in the legislature) or cessation from professionally lobbying Congress.

Back in the day, when showed a picture of presidential hopeful Gary Hart on his boat with his mistress, a fellow Senator was to have said: "Well, now, it seems the Senator has changed his opinion on offshore drillin'." :)

They say one out of every six people have a screw loose.
Look at your five best friends, if they seem ok,
    Then it's YOU !
